Hospital Additions & Renovations

In a highly competitive marketplace, hospitals must consistently upgrade and add on to their facilities. Projects include updating and improving the look and feel of public space to make the hospital more inviting to patients and visitors, as well as renovations and additions to provide better flow, accommodate new medical equipment, or meet increasing market requirements.

A significant percentage of Phoenix’s work is hospital renovation and additions. Each year, Phoenix performs dozens of hospital renovation projects—many related to the specialized technical medical equipment installation projects, as well as non-technical projects, such as lobby, cafeteria, patient floor, and central supply and laboratory renovations.

In 2001, St. Barnabas Medical Center gave Phoenix its first opportunity to build an addition—a 14,000 SF post partum unit on a sixth floor open roof. Since that time, Phoenix has built further additions to St. Barnabas, as well as radiation oncology and operating room additions at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey, oncology and central plant additions at Winthrop University Medical Center in Long Island, and numerous other hospitals, including radiation oncology additions at V.A. Hospitals in Jackson, MS, and West Palm Beach and Bay Pines, Florida.
